More than 4 in 10 women have experienced some form of intimate partner violence in their lifetimes.
March 12th is Rowan House Society’s Shine A Light Day!
We’re raising money to help support the vital programs and services that Rowan House Society offers to people impacted by domestic violence and abuse, in southern Alberta.
Like the Rowan House 24-Hour Support Line & Rowan House Emergency Shelter.
Linette Soldan, Executive Director of Rowan House Society:
“The 24-Hour Support Line is the first step in helping a person leave a violent situation. Last year, we answered over 2 thousand calls and texts from people needing support.
Every person who arrives at our Emergency Shelter needs comfort. Items like soft slippers, a bar of soap, or a plush teddy bear for the child who had to leave their toys behind, goes a long way in providing that comfort.”
The cost to keep the 24-Hour Support Line open for one month is $1,000.
Any size donation helps - $10, $20, $100 – whatever you can afford. Gather your colleagues and friends and donate together!
A $50 dollar donation buys essential items like toilet paper and shampoo for the emergency shelter.
$25 dollars, gives a child a plush teddy bear.
Help us be the light during someone’s darkest hour.
Donate in person on March 12th from 2 – 8PM at the Vinyl Café and Lounge in High River, or DONATE ONLINE NOW at ROWANHOUSE.CA.
